Goal:

Build a mobile application, BexarConnect app, as an easy way for the citizens of Bexar County to stay connected with the resources and services of Bexar County as well as a Content Management Web Application that would help facilitate, manage, and render the data to the mobile application.

Business Challenge:

Bexar County currently provides various services to the citizens of the Bexar County like Commissioners Court broadcasts, Election information and results, Jury duty information etc., via web portal. With consumers moving towards mobile first approach, Bexar County required a mobile solution to connect with them efficiently and offer its services effectively.

The Solution:

Sistema will be delivering a comprehensive design, development, testing, deployment and support services to build the “BexarConnect” mobile application. The proposed solution will be a Xamarin based cross platform mobile application targeting iOS and Android platforms. Additionally, Sistema will design and develop a MVC based web application which would be used to govern and enhance the mobile apps and the overall solution.

The BexarConnect mobile application is an easy-to-use, light yet dynamic app that takes the County’s services and offerings to the hands of its citizens. With the implementation of the most effective means to stays connected with its citizens in the digital era, the county can make the life of its citizens easier by bringing helpful real time contents to them. The App is built on the Xamarin Cross platform development technology to achieve accelerated development processes and maximum code reusability. In addition to that, the App also brings exceptional user experience due to its native user interface and consistent performance across platforms.

The Content management Web application helps the Administrators to publish, edit or modify, maintain and control the information broadcasted to the Bexar County citizens. With its robust user interface, the tasks of publishing Emergency Alerts, time-critical notifications, and real-time information can be performed with minimum time and resources.

The solution also allows re-using the contents which will improve the efficiency in the long term. Both the Mobile and Web application development platform offers the flexibility to implement any additional improvements that may be desired in the future.
